This page contains resources I have found useful when working with schools implementing three-tiered support, particularly PBS. These include video examples of training, planning documents, and examples. Some are resources shared by partners and people who have attended workshops and shared examples. If you use these materials from this site as a part of your work, could you please email me and let me know (hbohano@luc.edu)? It would very helpful to know how these materials have been useful to others!

Team training: Reviewing self-assessment data to determine priorities – online (46 minutes – you can fast forward and rewind)
An interesting discussion of differences between team perception and teachers occurs at 15:30 minutes. Why this step is so important.
The data prompted a discussion of the makeup of the team for each tier at 35:00 minutes. Good discussion of the need for communication, knowledge of the model, and systems. Again, why these data are so important.
There is a discussion among the team about why and how to present these data back to their staff at about 40:00 minutes in. This step can be critical for developing ownership, urgency, and buy-in.

Training Part 1: Core principles of PBS for the team includes using data and tasks for teams- online (54 minutes)
We talk about the law as it relates to PBS (0:00-8:09)
We then discuss the principles of behavior that relate to PBS. This is an important part for developing staff (8:09-24:34)
The next section talks about establishing systems before practices. The last part of this section includes a discussion of the purpose of schoolwide acknowledgment (e.g., why should we include all students?) (24:34-42:51)
The following section provides an example of using data to plan for interventions at the schoolwide level (42:51-47:10)
Next, the participants are quizzed on their knowledge of the content and prepared for an “elevator speech” on PBS (47:10 to the end)
Training Part 2: Tasks for teams continued, video of training for will and capacity for teams, working smarter – online (16 minutes)
Training Part 3: Working smarter completed, video of training for completion of grid and basics of healthy team operations (1 hour 6 minutes)
