Greetings,
I want to wish you all a very happy new year (academically speaking). I am going to make an effort to provide more relevant information to you related to supporting students.
A few updates. I have revised my website. Your feedback is most welcomed. Also, there are several updated papers under Research related to issues such as integrating supports, establishing buy-in, and hallway interventions. There also are a few short webinars now that provide overviews of universal supports for secondary settings.
I also wanted to share with you a few other useful resources. The RtI Action Network has a new resource on their main page related to engaging parents in the support process (See Allies for Success http://www.rtinetwork.org/). On a related note, a longtime leader for engaging families in the intervention process, Rud Turnbull, just created a short video about parent and professional partnerships. It’s worth watching. As a co-director of the Beach Center on Disabilities at the University of Kansas (http://www.beachcenter.org/default.aspx?JScript=1) Rud provides a unique perspective based on years of experience. His talk can be found at http://mn.gov/mnddc/rud-turnbull/rud-turnbull-14.html.
Sorry I did not have anything funny to share, but, I can tell you that I just received an email stating that if I send $1,000 right now, I will inherit $1,000,000. Wish me luck!
Have a great start on your fall!
